The festivities have started and it is beginning to look lot like Christmas in Derry.

On Friday evening, after the Magical Procession, Santa Claus and Mayor Lilian Seenoi-Barr switched on the Christmas lights around the city.

Thousands of people along with their children gathered around the City Centre of Derry to watch the magical parade of Christmas characters carry festive cheer throughout the town.

The Mayor said: “Friday night was one I will never forget! ❤️

“Thank you to everyone who attended our Magical Christmas Procession to switch on our city’s Christmas lights.

“Derry is looking resplendent!

“Merry Christmas everyone.”

For those not counting, there are only 32 sleeps until Christmas Day.
