Na Magha CLG have announced that they have open spaces for new underage players to join their hurling and camogie teams.

Na Magha, who is Derry’s only hurling and camogie club, have announced this week that they are looking for new players ranging from p1 to p7 to join their Hurling and Camogie teams.

The club just this week celebrated their big win for the Camogs.

The club focuses heavily on gender equality and promotes a fair sporting environment for their girls.

Na Magha said: “Brilliant win for our U16 camogs this evening against Banagher to progress to the Derry Camogie U16 B Cup Final.

“A great performance tonight and brilliant achievement that the girls and their coaches should be proud of.”

What

Na Magha hurling club is located at Parc Na Magha in Ballyarnett. The club recently had work done to their pitches to expand the training area, which will be ready next spring.

Why

It’s currently a very busy time at the popular club due to the multiple initiatives they run.

They have a men’s social hurling team, which meet every Friday at Sean Dolans GAC.

New members are always welcome to join.

They also run Irish classes for beginners, Tin whistle lessons – and have a fully functioning gym that new members are also welcome to join.

Aodhán’s gym, named after late hurler Aodhán O Donnell, opened in the summer, and is open to public membership.

The club are also due to celebrate their annual Celebration and Prize- Giving dinner at the City Hotel on Oct 25 with all welcome.
