As Autumn approaches ,now is the time to think about ways you can get creative over the next few months.

The Alley Theatre in Strabane has an exciting programme of creative workshops planned from September to December.

Facilitated by renowned artists, the programme will cover everything from painting to ceramics to creative writing, singing, fun for the little ones and much more.

For adults, starting on Saturday, September 28, Shelia Byrne will be holding a four-week workshop in portrait painting.

Whether you are hoping to learn from scratch or just improve your technique, this course will provide all materials and teach you the skills to paint a beautiful portrait.

Then in November and December join local sculptor and ceramic artist Leona Devine and learn how to model and create your own glass lantern.

This will involve painting and creating your own unique lantern. Each stage will be demonstrated, and the cost includes materials and lantern.

A fun song-writing workshop for children will take place on Saturday 28th September to celebrate International Music Day.

Under the direction of Frank Galligan, children will use their writing skills to create their own music.

Over the Halloween break there will be plenty to keep little witches and wizards entertained including a Mosaics Workshop with Bernie Wilson on 29th and 30th October.

Using broken tiles participants can create their very own hand-crafted mosaic piece.

On October 31 there will be hours of play and fun with Caroline Devenney as kids can get creative with monster and witch characters, peg puppets, colourful hair and spooky ghosts and bats to get in the Halloween spirit.

Then as part of the Christmas Lights Switch On celebrations on Saturday 23rd November there will be Christmas arts and crafts with Angeline Beattie.

On Saturday, November 30 there will be an exciting intergenerational workshop with Gloria Perry to make Christmas angels.

An excellent opportunity for all ages to have fun and learn and create something new together, whilst creating a unique Christmas Angel.

Spaces are limited for all workshops so early booking is advised.

Details of all workshops are available on the Alley Theatre website: www.alley-theatre.com

Or call the Alley Theatre Box Office on 02871 384 444 for more information or to book your place.
