Turning to the club’s successful netball team, Strabane Athletic were the winners of the Northern Ireland League Division 5.

Lauding the achievements of the Strabane club Mayor Barr said: “It’s wonderful to be here to celebrate everything Strabane Athletic has achieved.

“Such sporting success requires dedication and focus.

“I know you will all have spent many hours training and preparing for these games, and it is great to see you now able to celebrate the fruits of all that hard work.

“You should be very proud of yourselves and your team-mates.”
