Award-winning Irish language author Róise Ní Bhaoill

Derry City and Strabane District Council will host a special lunchtime event on Tuesday 5th March 2024 at 1pm in Derry’s Guildhall to celebrate Irish Language Week 2024.

The event will offer local audiences a unique opportunity to hear first hand a selection of readings in the Irish language by award-winning Irish language author Róise Ní Bhaoill whose recently-published collection of short stories – Imram – won the Irish language fiction book the year award in November 2023.

As demand for this event is expected to be high, audiences are asked to reserve their place in advance by contacting Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Languages Team on T: 028 71 376 579 or by emailing [email protected].

This is one of a series of events being organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council to celebrate Irish Language Week 2024.

Please visit www.derrystrabane.com/gaeilge for further information or follow the Council’s Irish language Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/foramphobalnagaeilge/ for the most up-to-date information.
