Jogger taken to Derry hospital after being struck by car

A jogger has been taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry after he was struck by a car this morning in Donegal.

Gardaí are appealing for information about the incident which occurred in the Moville area, on the R238 Derry to Moville Road, between 7 am and 8 am.

The man was later taken across the border for emergency treatment by doctors in Derry.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone who was travelling on the R238 between 7am and 8am and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to contact investigating Gardaí.

They are also appealing to the motorist involved in the collision who had stopped to assist the man after the collision to come forward to them.
