DCI Caldwell murder bid: Man arrested in Derry over New IRA statement

The New IRA statement posted on a wall in Derry claiming responsibility for murder bid on DCI John Caldwell

Detectives investigating the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell in February have today, Thursday 21 September, arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the claim of responsibility made following the attack.

The man was arrested in Derry under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act.

He has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
