Substantial quantity of drugs and cash seized in Derry

Two people are in custody after police seized a large quantity of drugs and cash in Derry.

Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Following a routine traffic stop yesterday evening officers from Waterside Neighbourhood Team carried out a search of a vehicle with suspected drugs being found.

“A subsequent house search was carried out and a large quantity of class A, and C drugs along with cash were seized.

“Two people were subsequently arrested and are currently in custody assisting with our enquiries.

“Drugs don’t belong in our community.

“The Police Service of Northern Ireland, through Op Dealbreaker, continues to tackle the harm caused by illegal drugs, illicit prescription medication and their supply, use and misuse in Northern Ireland.

“If you have any information in relation to the supply, use and misuse of drugs in your area please contact your local police station or contact crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
