Cusack calls for white line painting before Winter

SDLP Councillor for Foyleside Shauna Cusack has called for the Department for Infrastructure to prioritise white line road painting in her constituency as Winter hits.

Said Cllr Cusack: “A short walk anywhere in my constituency reveals badly worn or even invisible road markings.

“These are particularly bad in the busy streets off Creggan Road, Springtown Road and around Rosemount.

“With Winter upon us, road safety and visibility should be a priority and we should be doing everything we can to make sure any potential hazards or health and safety issues are immediately addressed.

“Obviously all budgets in all Departments are squeezed right now but we can’t compromise on accident and injury prevention.

“I have already written to a number of officers in the Depart for Infrastructure highlighting these areas and look forward to a positive response soon.”
