The draw for the Extra.ie FAI Cup semi-finals has thrown up two Premier Division versus First Division ties, and both of them will be shown live on RTÉ television on Sunday 16 October.

Coverage for what will be a double header will begin at 13:45 on RTÉ2 when Derry City first host Treaty United, followed by Waterford v Shelbourne.

Both games will be live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player.

Waterford host Shelbourne, a second home round in a row for the Blues, while Treaty United head to Derry City, who knocked out SSE Airtricity League Premier Division leaders Shamrock Rovers.

Derry lifted the cup most recently 10 years ago, while they made the final two years later.

Treaty United are into a first semi-final since their formation ahead of last year’s First Division campaign after they put UCD out at Markets Field on Friday. Kick-off for that game is 2pm.

Waterford were surprise winners over Dundalk in their last eight tie on Friday, and they’ll have to beat another top-flight side if they want to reach a first final since 2004, with their last title coming in 1980.

Shels were last in the showpiece game 11 years ago, and they last won it back in 2000. The two sides will meet at the RSC at 4:45pm.

The final will be played at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, November 13 at 3pm.
