THE Department of Health has reported six further Covid-19-related deaths over the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.
Deaths are measured by recording those who died within 28 days of receiving a positive result in a test for Coronavirus.
The DoH records that one of these deaths happened outside the current reporting period.
The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in the North of Ireland recorded by the Department of Health since the start of the pandemic is at 3,342.
Sadly, over the weekend one of these latest deaths was recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Today’s data from the Department of Health shows there has been a further 903 positive cases of Coronavirus in the North of Ireland, a rise of 120 on figures given yesterday for Saturday.
It includes cases confirmed from samples taken in previous days, not necessarily just in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
As of today, the number of positive cases confirmed in the past seven days was 10,078.
The statistics show that in the past 24 hours there has been a further 67 Covid-19 cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area
Over the past seven days, there were 653 recorded in the Derry and Strabane Council area.
The infection rates within Derry and Strabane is now the fifth lowest of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland with 432 cases per 100,000.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 105 per cent.
The Department of Health now records that 216 people (mostly in hospitals) have died from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane Council area.
There are currently 480 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals here.
There are ten patients with Covid-19 being treated in intensive care units with two people on ventilators.
There are 31 people being treated in Altnagelvin Hospital with Coronavirus and no persons with Covid-19 are in intensive care.
The figures show that 15.60 per cent of beds in Altnagelvin Hospital are occupied by people with Coronavirus and it is running at 3.62 per cent over capacity for beds.
The Department of Health reports that 151 care homes in the North of Ireland are dealing with an outbreak of Coronavirus, with 1,394 closed cases of Covid-19 in care homes here.
In the Western Trust area, 32 of its 67 care homes are dealing with a Coronavirus outbreak.
A total of 3,760,869 vaccines have been administered to date across the North of Ireland as of Monday.
Of those figures, one million booster and third dose vaccinations have now been administered in the North of Ireland to date.
