Six further deaths, 1,218 new cases in North

THE Department of Health has reported six further Covid-19-related deaths over the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.

Deaths are measured by recording those who died within 28 days of receiving a positive result in a test for Coronavirus.

The total number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in the North of Ireland recorded by the Department of Health since the start of the pandemic is at 3,329.

Today’s data from the Department of Health shows there has been a further 1,218 positive cases of Coronavirus in the North of Ireland, a fall of 243 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.

It includes cases confirmed from samples taken in previous days, not necessarily just in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

Due to a technical difficulties, the Department of Health says its Covid-19 dashboard is not available today.

A total of 3,757,322 vaccines have been administered to date across the North of Ireland as of Friday.

Of those figures, one million booster and third dose vaccinations have now been administered in the North of Ireland to date.
