William Joyce jailed at Coleraine Crown Court for Class A drug dealing offences

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit have welcomed the sentencing of a 32 year old Co Derry man for drugs offences at Coleraine Crown Court today, Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

William Boyce, of Tullynagee Road, Moneymore, Magherafelt, was sentenced to:

* Three years eight months imprisonment – 22 months in custody and 22 months on licence – for Being Concerned in Supply of a Class A Controlled Drug, namely cocaine;

* Three years eight months imprisonment – 22 months in custody and 22 months on licence – Possession of a Class A Controlled Drug with intent to supply (to run concurrently);

* Two years imprisonment – 12 months in custody and 12 months on licence – for possession of class A controlled drug (to run concurrently).

Detective Inspector Shaw said: “Those who deal in drugs remain a priority for the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit and we will continue to robustly and proactively pursue those who are intent on damaging our communities by supplying illegal drugs.

“This follows a proactive search of a house in the Tobermore area on Sunday, January 10, 2021, where a quantity of suspected Class A drugs were seized.

“Through Operation DEALBREAKER, and the multi-agency efforts of the Organised Crime Task Force, we will continue to carry out operations, to break the cycle of those who seek to cause harm through the illegal importation and supply of drugs in Northern Ireland, and to dismantle the organised criminals who profit from this incredibly harmful activity.

“I would encourage anyone with information that could assist in our efforts to contact us on the non-emergency number 101, or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/

“You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at: http://crimestoppers-uk.org
