POLICE in Derry are jubilant after disruputing the supply of drugs in the city.

Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Officers, with the assistance of our colleagues in Foyleside Neighbourhood Policing Team and Tactical Support Group conducted three house searches yesterday, combating the possession and supply of controlled drugs.

“A significant amount of Class B and C controlled drugs have been recovered, and two people are in custody assisting us with our enquiries.

“Drugs are a major area of concern for members of our community, and have been raised to our team on numerous occasions.

“It is thanks to your input that we are able to act and continue to carry out robust investigations.

“We will continue to listen to you. Through Operation Dealbreaker, we remain committed to tackling the issue of illegal drugs – it’s an absolute priority for us.

“As part of Op Seasons Greetings you will be seeing us out and about on the roads, transport hubs and retail parks.

“Don’t be afraid to approach our officers to air any concerns, or just have a chat.

“Alternatively you can contact us on 101 or use our online reporting form, visit: www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/
