PEOPLE Before Profits Councillor Shaun Harkin said the demand for truth and justice goes for families across the North.

Families of loved ones killed by the State gathered at the Guildhall in Derry for a rally over the weekend calling on the Tories to scrap plans for an amnesty for killers.

Said Cllr Harkin: “People Before Profit joined Time for Truth rallies in Derry and Belfast held over the weekend.

“The British government blocked the truth about atrocities committed here by the British army for many decades.

“Relentless and brave campaigning demonstrated the innocence of victims and the culpability of the British state many times over.

“Boris Johnson and his cohorts have no right to deny anyone access to truth and justice.

“They have no right to impose an amnesty for state killers.

“We stand with all families who seek the truth about what happened to their loved ones.

“It is encouraging that families have continued to campaign for truth and justice through the courts and on the streets despite the recent attempt to block it.

“We will continue to stand in solidarity with them until truth and justice is won.”
