Eastwood urges people to support Children’s Hospice Week

SDLP Leader Colum Eastwood has pledged his support to seriously ill children, young people and their families during Children’s Hospice Week.

Said the Foyle MP: “This week, it’s important that we recognise those who are committed to raising awareness and funds for children’s hospice and palliative care services across the North.

“The past 14 months have been extremely challenging for families with seriously ill children with healthcare needs – often these challenges that families face are under-appreciated every day.

“As well as families with caring responsibilities, children’s hospices have been under serious pressure.

“This year, Together For Short Lives want people to push themselves to their limits and help raise vital funds and continuing to support children and their families at the hospices and in communities.

“Children’s Hospice Week is an opportunity to raise awareness and appreciation of the work children’s hospices do and help support them through raising vital funds.

“I’d encourage everyone who can to play their part and help those children and young people in need.”
