THE Department of Health has announced a further 98 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
Thats a rise of 17 on figures given yesterday for Friday.
There has been no further deaths from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,147.
To date, a total of 1,460,425 vaccines have been administered across the North of Ireland.
The Department of Health’s dashboard is no longer updated at the weekends or on public holidays.
The next dashboard up date will be tomorrow, May 10.
Figures released yesterday by the DoH showed that in the past week there had been 599 new cases of Coronavirus.
There was a further 13 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area over Thursday, a fall of of eight on the previous day.
Over the past seven days there had been a further 133 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 12,339 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area was at 88.3 cases per 100,000, the highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals was down to 100 per cent from 103 per cent previously.
There were 62 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
Six patients were being treated in intensive care with three patients on ventilators.
Five care homes were dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 652 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
