SDLP Foyle MLA and Jobs/Economy spokesperson Sinead McLaughlin

THE SDLP jobs spokesperson Sinéad McLaughlin has congratulated Alchemy Technology Services and the North West Regional College on the launch of a new training academy, with 20 places that will potentially lead to employment as technical or business analysts.

Said the Foyle MLA: “Alchemy is still quite new as an employer in Derry, but it is making its presence felt as a company providing good, well paid, jobs.

“I am delighted at these new training places and the new jobs that are likely to follow.

“Alchemy is the type of company that fits well with Derry.

“These are highly skilled roles, building on the city’s strong digital infrastructure and our focus on advanced technology skills.

“Alchemy has already achieved international recognition in the insurance software sector, as well as being engaged in the community life of the city.

“The relationship with the North West Regional College is important not just for Alchemy, but for the city and region.

“NWRC’s role in developing high level vocational skills sits at the heart of Derry’s future in attracting and expanding its presence in the vital software and manufacturing sectors.”
