Sinn Fein Education spokesperson Karen Mullan

SINN Féin’s Karen Mullan has raised concerns about Road safety at the junction of Northland Road and Rock Road following several serious collisions in the area.

Said the Foyle MLA: “I have written to the Department for Infrastructure following concerns that have been raised with me by both residents and representatives of Ulster University at Magee regarding Road safety at the junction of Northland Road and Rock Road.

“There have been a number of serious collisions at this particular junction, one of which sadly resulted in the death of a driver.

“Given the nature of these incidents where vehicles left the road and crossed the pavements, there is genuine concern that pedestrians could be seriously injured.

“I would urge the Department for Infrastructure to undertake a review of the location with a view of introducing additional protection for road users and pedestrians.”
