THE Department of Health has announced a further 447 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 133 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further 17 deaths (eight outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 1,878.
Sadly, one of these latest deaths has been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 3,517 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 22 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of 15 for figures reported for Sunday.
Within the past week there have been a further 137 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 10,713 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 126 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 92 per cent.
There are currently 716 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 64 patients currently in intensive care and 58 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 105 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 516 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
