Snow: Road conditions ‘hazardous’ and cemeteries closed

written by cassoscoop January 24, 2021

POLICE are advising motorists not to make non essential journeys today because of overnight snow.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Driving conditions are hazardous on many routes this morning due to snow and freezing temperatures.

“Please avoid all unnecessary travel.

“If you must venture out, please reduce your speed and drive to suit the conditions.”

Meanwhile, Derry City and Strabane District Council say all its cemeteries will remain closed today because of the heavy snow fall.

A council spokesperson said: “Our Cemeteries remain closed for health and safety reasons today – Sunday – as a result of the ice & snow conditions.

“Burials will continue as normal.

“Please be careful when out and about today as many surfaces are slippy.”
