SINN Féin’s MLA Karen Mullan has praised the invaluable work provided by various local youth services throughout

Sinn Fein Foyle MLA Karen Mullan

the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Foyle MLA was commenting after inviting the Education Minister Peter Weir to Derry to visit some of the projects involved.

Karen Mullan said: “I organised the visit with a selection of Youth Services from across the city showing the enormous amount of work going on.

“There is brilliant partnership work happening which is vital to bettering the lives of young people in our city.

“Unfortunately, I could not take the Minister to visit every youth service in the city but the invaluable work that the sector has done from the outbreak of COVID-19 has been amazing.

They never stopped at any stage and were always there when needed.

“Our young people are the future and our educators and youth services are the backbone to providing young people with opportunities.

The Minister saw first-hand the amount of collaboration going on and the benefit it has for young people.”
