Second man arrested in Derry over notification breach under Counter Terrorism Act

Detectives quiz 50-year-old man at Strand Road police station over Counter Terrorism Act breach

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’S Terrorist Investigation Unit have arrested a 50 year old man in Derry today, Thursday, October 8.

He was arrested for Failure to Notify Police of Required Information under Article 4 of the Counter Terrorism Act 2008.

He has been taken to Strand Road custody suite for questioning.

The 50-year-old is the second person to be detained in the city under the Counter Terrorism Act.

Yesterday, a 33-year-old man was also arrested for Failure to Notify Police of Required Information

He has since been charged with the offence and is expected to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 4.

As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
