DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit (TIU) conducted a planned search in the Derry area today, Friday, September 18 in relation to ongoing investigations into violent dissident republican activity.
A 36 year old man was arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act.
He is currently in police custody at the serious crime suite in Belfast.
The suspect can be held for up to 48 hours for questioning.
