Member of staff at Timber Quay Restaurant and Wine Bar in Derry tests positive for COVID-19

A POPULAR restaurant and wine bar in Derry is currently undergoing a professional deep clean on health grounds.

It comes after a member of staff at Timber Quay Restaurant and Wine Bar on the city’s Strand Road tested positive for Coronavirus.

The owners of the restaurant plan to reopen for service this evening, Wednesday, September 16, at 5 pm after the premises is completely sanitized to protect both staff and its loyal customers.

In a message on its Facebook page this afternoon, the management say: “A member of our team has just tested positive for COVID-19, and obviously our concerns are for our customers and staff.

“On the advice of HSC an other government bodies, we have been advised to have the restaurant professionally disinfected which is happening as we speak.

“We are also in the process of contacting any customers that we need to.

“Just to reassure you all that we have taken every measure necessary to keep all our customers and staff safe, both now and in the lead up to this.

“Which is why we have decided to write this post to keep you all informed so you can make an informed decision.

“We will reopen at 5 pm for evening service in a nice, sanitized environment and also with staff who have not been in contact.

“We are doing everything we have been asked to do and will continue to do so.

“Thank you for understanding.

“Team TQ.”
