Ongoing traffic & parking issues in Bogside an Bishop Street area – Mullan

SINN Féin’s Karen Mullan has written to Department for Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon around ongoing traffic and parking issues in the Bogside and Bishop Street areas .

Said the Foyle MLA: “The traffic and parking issues in the Bogside and Bishop Street have been ongoing for years and are continuing to grow.

“Over the last number of years Councillor Patricia Logue and I have met with the Department for Infrastructure (DFI) locally and have invited the Permanent Secretary to visit the area.

“Residents are fed up by the inaction and lack of a plan by the Department for Infrastructure to review the increase in the traffic and parking issues in the area.

“A residents parking scheme for the Bogside has been talked about by the DFI for over a decade now and residents are increasingly frustrated.

“I have written to the Minister to ask that she carries out a review in the wider Bishop Street and Bogside areas and put a plan in place that supports the residents living there and brings this issue to a positive resolution.”
