THE number of weekly Coronavirus-linked deaths in the North of Ireland is continuing to fall.

In the week up to Friday, July 17, the virus was mentioned on the death certificates of five people.

The figures were released by Nisra (Northern Ireland’s Statistics and Research Agency).

That is seven fewer than the previous week.

It means there has been a total of 850 Covid-19 related deaths up to last Friday.

The Department of Health’s daily figure, based on positive test results, was 556.

It is the eleventh week since NISRA began reporting that the figure has gone down.
