THE Department of Health has recorded two further COVID-19-related deaths have been recorded by Northern Ireland’s Department of Health.
The total number of deaths recorded by the department is now 556.
This is the latest update since Friday as the department no longer updates its online dashboard over the weekend.
Its daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths, where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.
The latest figures on the department’s dashboard show the total number of confirmed positive cases of the virus now stands at 5,788, with 16 further positive tests recorded since Friday.
One patient with COVID-19 is currently being treated in intensive care in hospitals in the North of Ireland.
There have been 28 deaths in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area with 212 positive cases recorded.
