Coronavirus: No further deaths in North from COVID-19 recorded

THE Department of Health say there there have been no new COVID-19 related deaths in the North of Ireland in the past 24 hours.

It means its death figures remain at 554.

The department’s daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths, where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.

The latest figures on the department’s dashboard show the total number of confirmed positive cases of the virus now stands at 5,768, with three new positive tests recorded in the past 24 hours.

No patients with COVID-19 are currently being treated in intensive care in hospitals here.

There have been 27 deaths from Coronavirus in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area since the pandemice erupted in March, with 212 positive cases recorded within the council boundary.

The NI Statistics and Research Agency will report tomorrow, Friday, July 10, on deaths up to July 3 from Coronavirus in all settings which include hospitals, care homes, hospices and residential properties.
