The dangerous Peugeot 207 car seized by police in Derry

A MAN was arrested after he failed to stop for police in Derry on Wednesday.

Police say officers received reports that a Peugeot 207 car was “being driven dangerously” in the Ballymagroarty area of the city.

Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Officers from the COVID Team along with colleagues from our Local Policing Team patrolled the area when we observed it.

“The driver failed to stop for us before abandoning the car.

“He was quickly arrested for a number of offences which included Dangerous Driving, Driving Whilst Unfit, Driving Without Insurance and Failing to Stop for Police.

“This list goes on.

“The driver is now in Strand Road Custody.

“Our roads are not race tracks.

“They are not to be treated as race tracks.

“We will not tolerate death driving in our city!”
