Dangerous ‘death driver’ arrested after pursuit by police across Derry city

Driver of this Skoda car arrested after he failed to stop for police in Derry

A DRIVER is currently in custody at Strand Road police station in Derry after he failed to stop for police last night.

The driver failed to stop for police and after the deployment of a PSNI units the car was stopped in its tracks.

Police Derry City and Strabane say on its Facebook page: “Whilst out on patrol last night we came across a silver Skoda driving dangerously.

“Attempts were made to stop the vehicle.

“However, the driver decided to ignore police and failed to stop.

“After a pursuit through our city the skoda was stopped thanks to great team work by our COVID Team, Neighbourhood Policing Teams, District Support Team and Local Policing Team.

“The driver has been arrested for a number of offences including Dangerous Driving, Failing to Stop for Police and Driving Whilst Unfit just to name a few.

“The driver will be spending the night in Strand Road Custody before answering a few questions.

“We will not tolerate Death Drivers in our city.”
