Coronavirus: Executive says up to six people can meet outside using social distancing

Arlene Foster and Michelle O’Neill

THE Executive has implemented further easing of the Coronavirus lockdown measures allowing bigger outdoor gatherings.

But this can only take place between members from the same household.

Gatherings of up to six people from outside the same household can meet outdoors, although there can still be no mixing of different households.

Mrs Foster said the Executive is also considering the matter of small weddings.

She said the health advice was that the virus spread more easily indoors than outdoors.

“The relaxations I have announced have been made possible by the vast majority of you faithfully following the public health advice on self-isolation … and social distancing.”

She added: “They have been hard-won freedoms.

“It is vital that when you exercise those you do it in a way that does not put anyone else’s safety at risk.”
