New NI Secretary of State Brandon Lewis
Mr Lewis replaces Julian Smith who was sacked from the post early today as British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wielded the axe on those he didn’t want in his Cabinet anymore.
This included former NI Secretary of State Theresa Villiers who was sacked as Environment Secretary.
Said the Foyle MP: “There are many challenges facing the Secretary of State and I hope he acts with fairness and integrity in dealing with the Executive at Stormont and on issues relating to the past.”
“I wish the Secretary of State the best of luck and look forward to meeting with him in the coming weeks.”
