A LOCAL councillor is appealing to the public in Derry to help trace an elderly woman who left her cash behind at an ATM machine in Derry’s Sackville Street.

SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney says the honest person has been contacted a member of the public who has the cash and wants to reunite the woman with it.

Cllr Tiereney posted this message on Facebook today: “Please see below message I’ve just received if you were at the bank machine on Sackville St today and this happened to you or you know who it was please put them in touch:

“Hi Brian, am just wondering if you could put a post up.

“I was at the bank machines in Sackvile Street and a elderly women with blonde hair was having some difficulty with one of the machines and walked away.

“As I approached the machine her money came out.

“I turned around to call her but she was gone, I drove around to check for her and went into the bank to check in there but she was gone.

“I will know what she looks like and have the money here. Would like to return it to her.”

If you know who this person is, send Councillor Tierney a DM on Facebook so the elderly woman can be reunited with her money.
