Radio presenter Sean Coyle

LISTENERS to the Sean Coyle show were left stunned today when he announced he was leaving the BBC after over three decades.

He took over the 10.30 am slot from Gerry Anderson who sadly died five years ago of cancer on August 21, 2014.

After announcing that today was his last show, Sean told listeners: “”I’m afraid it’s not fake news. I wish it were.”

He signed off with Bing Crosby’s ‘Show me the way to go home’ before quipping: “If they can bring Lazarus back, they can bring me back.”

In a tweet, the BBC said: “Radio Ulster and Radio Foyle presenter Sean Coyle has announced that he’s leaving the BBC after 35 years.

“He hosted his final Sean Coyle Show from the BBC Radio Foyle studios on Friday.”
