Two men charged over spate of burglaries in Derry

Two men due at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Monday over a series of breakins in the city

DETECTIVES at Strand Road have charged two men in relation to a spate of recent burglaries in Derry recently.

One is also charged with having a gun and possessing Class A drugs.

The PSNI say that a 42 year old man has been charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of burglary with intent to steal and going equipped for burglary.

A 49 year old man has been charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of burglary with intent to steal, going equipped for burglary, possession of a class A controlled drug and possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.

They are both due to face Derry Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 19, for a first remand hearing.

The charges are in connection with the arrest of two males in Derry on Friday by detectives investigating a series of recent burglaries in the City.
