Shantallow man Patrick Healy tragically killed in crash on Glenshane Road

THE partner of a Shantallow man killed in a crash has said he will always be in her heart.

Patrick ‘Patsy’ Healy died after the accident on the Glenshane Road on Tuesday night around 11.45 pm.

The 46-year-old was involved in a single vehicle collision near the Ponderosa Bar and Restaurant

Two women in the car were also injured.

They were initially rushed to Altnagelvin Hospital but have since been transferred to hospital in Belfast, where their condition has been described as “serious”.

Mr Healy’s partner Kerrie Ann Holt said: “Rest in peace my love. You will never leave my heart.

“Life will never be the same without you.”

Mr Healy’s sister Janet Kerr added: “My beautiful baby brother I have loved all my life – you were my best wee buddy.

“I can’t believe I will never see your smiling face or hear your silly little laugh.

“You were loved so much, my world will never be the same ever again.

“I don’t think I will ever smile again, I can’t accept this, love you ’til I die.”

Mr Healy’s tragic death brings to 19 the number of people who have lost their lives on our roads in the first four months of this year.

The Glenshane Road was closed overnight between the Garvagh Road in Dungiven and Tobermore Road in Maghera while police investigated the circumstance of the crash.

Police appealed for anyone who was travelling on the Glenshane Road on Tuesday night and who witnessed the collision, or anyone who has any mobile phone or dash cam footage of the incident, to come forward.

They can contact officers in Limavady or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 1654 23/04/19.
