Sinn Fein Councillor Caoimhe McKnight

SINN Féin Councillor Caoimhe McKnight has called on the Council to clean up and repair a wall in Glenabbey which has been subject to ongoing vandalism.

Councillor McKnight said: “This is a wall that runs through the centre of Glenabbey and is repeatedly being vandalised by young people in the area. Not only is it unsightly it is creating an unsafe environment for younger children who play in the area.

“I have been in contact with Council Officers to have the area around the wall cleaned up and to carry out the necessary repairs.

“But parents need to take some responsibility to ensure that their children are not involved in this vandalism in their community.

“This anti-community behaviour is unacceptable for any reason but it creates an unsightly impression of the estate in general.

“So I appeal to parents to make sure your children are not contributing to this problem,” she added.
