SDLP Moor representative Cathy Breslin

SDLP Moor candidate Cathy Breslin has praised Derry City and Strabane District Council for the much needed clean-up of the lower Glenowen path.

She said: “The SDLP has on many occasions raised concerns of Glenowen residents in regard to maintenance of these pathways.

“Recently the area had become particularly grubby and very unkempt; once more myself and Mark H Durkan endeavoured to have this issue resolved without delay.

“In the past, securing a clean-up of the area has proved difficult.

“So I am pleased to see that demands have been taken on board and are now being addressed.

“The council has done a great job removing litter from the area and clearing the pathway.

“I hope these efforts will be maintained and that residents can take pride in keeping their community clean.”
