The visitors took the lead after 55 minutes when Eoghan Stokes, who was upended by Derek Pender inside the area, scored against his former club from the penalty spot.

However, as City looked set to earn an emphatic result in Dublin, Keith Long’s side struck level through James Finnerty after 77 minutes.

In the end, it was an impressive point for Declan Devine injury-stricken outfit as Bohs’ applied late pressure.

Derry City will now turn their attention to Champions Dundalk at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on March 15.

Bohemians: Talbot, Pender, Leahy, Cornwall, Allardice (McCourt 57’), Mandroiu, Ward, Levingston, Finnerty, Wade-Slater (Grant 62’), Reghba (Byrne 76’).

Derry City: Cherrie, Coll, Gilchrist, Toal, McDermott, Cole, Bruna (McNamee 79’), Ogide-Uzokwe, Harkin, Stokes, Delap (Kerr 90’).

Referee: T Connolly.
