THE PSNI is warning home owners in Co Derry to make sure their properties are secure at all times following attempted burglaries on Sunday night, January 6

Police say: “Last night we received several reports of persons trying to access people’s houses in Limavady by accessing unlocked windows.

“Please make sure that you check your windows and doors are locked and secure.

“All too often when we attend reports of burglaries the suspect has simply walked in through an open door.

“We are carrying out enquires this morning to try and identify those involved.

“If you notice anyone suspicious contact us on 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.”
