DECLAN Devine has wasted no time adding to his squad in 2019 as the club confirmed the arrival of Patrick McClean, David Parkhouse, and Ciaron Harkin.

McClean, Harkin, both 22, and Parkhouse, 19, take Devine’s dealing to seven for the upcoming league campaign.

The Candystripes manager was keen to get more additions added to his Derry City squad ahead of pre-season training, which starts this month.

Derry Daily revealed last month that a deal between Sligo Rovers and Derry City was being negotiated for Patrick McClean.

Following talks between the clubs, McClean arrives from Rovers, on a two-year contract, after the Lone Moor Road outfit managed to agree on a deal for the Creggan man, who had one-year left on his previous contract.

Ciaron ‘Jackie’ Harkin has also signed for a second spell at the club, signing a two-year contract from Coleraine, while former Maiden City youngster, Parkhouse, has joined on a six-month loan from Sheffield United.

Farewell, Jackie!

The midfielder made 89 appearances, scoring four times after joining in January 2016. Harkin would help the club reach back-to-back Irish Cup finals, as well as playing in Europe on four occasions. Everyone wishes Ciaron the very best of luck at Derry City. pic.twitter.com/3w0DHGZ44Q

Another player who could be set for a second stint with the Brandywell club is Insitute’s top goalscorer, Michael McCrudden.

The Gobnascale man has returned an outstanding 18 goals in the Northern Ireland Danske Bank Premiership this season, joint top with Cliftonville’s Joe Gormley, and City is expected to make an approach this month.

Ciaran Coll, Peter Cherrie, Ally Gilchrist, and Greg Sloggett all signed for Derry last month – while Jamie McDonagh also penned new terms with the club.
