Sainsbury’s store on Strand Road Derry

SDLP MLA Mark H Durkan has confirmed that work on road markings into Sainsbury’s on the Strand Road, will be carried out over the next month.

The Foyle MLA said: “I have been contacted by a number of concerned constituents about the state of the road into Sainsbury’s.

“The road markings are barely visible and the mini roundabout has virtually disappeared.

“This is quite dangerous, especially at this very busy time of year.”

“I am pleased that I have received confirmation that work will be carried out next month to rectify this issue and Sainsbury’s have also informed me that they intend to implement ‘temporary’ improvements over the weekend.

“I would urge motorist’s vigilance and caution on the roads in the meantime over the festive period.”
