DERRY City and Strabane District Council’s ‘Key Commemoration Programme’ continues this week with two fascinating events taking place in the Tower Museum.

Tonight, Wednesday, December 4, at 7 pm, Adrian Grant from Ulster University will deliver a talk on the 1918 General Election.

Adrian will discuss the December 1918 General Election, its impact in the North West and the seismic shift it caused in politics throughout Britain and Ireland.

On Thursday, December 5, at 7pm, there will be a showing of the film ‘Journey’s End’ (2017).

Led by a young officer Stanhope, whose mental health is rapidly disintegrating, a group of British soldiers await their fate in an Aisne dugout during the end of the First World War.

Both events are free and everyone is welcome to attend.

If you would like to book a place for this week’s talk or film please contact the Tower Museum on 028 71 372411 or email [email protected]

This engagement project is funded by The Executive Office via the District Council’s Good Relations Programme.
