Mullan urges public to engage with school transport consultation

SINN Féin education spokesperson Karen Mullan has urged the public to respond to the Education Authority’s latest consultation on the parental payment scheme for school transport.

The Foyle MLA was speaking as the Education Authority launches a consultation process on plans to change the way in which parental payments are made.

“I welcome this consultation from the EA and I would strongly urge all relevant stakeholders, particularly parents and teachers to respond to it and make submissions,” she commented.

“It is especially important for those in rural areas to take part in the consultation process to ensure rural needs are appropriately considered.

“The consultation process will form the basis for transport assistance for the coming years so it’s important to get it right.”
