Michael Duffy has not been included in the Republic of Ireland squad for their games in the UEFA Nations League.

The Republic face Wales in their opening UEFA Nations League game on  September 6 before a friendly against Poland five days later.

Martin O’Neill was keen to include the Dundalk attacker in the national team for the opening fixtures but they are still awaiting on international clearance to switch from Northern Ireland to the Republic.

The former Derry City player has previously been capped by Northern Ireland at under-21 level.

James McClean, Seamus Coleman, Shane Duffy and Ciaran Clark are all included.

West Ham defender Declan Rice is considering declaring for England.

London-born Rice, 19, has earned three Republic caps after making his debut against Turkey in March but has not played in a competitive international.
