Police issue photo of man hunted over Derry petrol bomb attack

A male throws a lit petrol bomb at a white Transit van as it travelled along Lecky Road on July 12 during six days of rioting in Derry

POLICE officers working on ‘Operation Exposure’ have issued a picture of a man they want to trace over a petrol bomb incident in Derry last month.

Officers say they are want to speak to this male in connection with a petrol bomb which was thrown at a motorist in the Bogside on July 12 this year.

The device was thrown during six days of rioting in the city which had been orchestrated by dissident republicans.

A PSNI Foylw spokesperson said: “If criminals are happy to endanger lives they can expect to find their picture circulated and no stone unturned.

“Someone knows who this is. As soon as we have the confirmed identification we will remove the video

“Alternatively Private Message through Facebook. DO NOT post names in the comments.

“You can also contact 101 or anonymously through crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
