MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council John Boyle has praised a team of nurse from Altnagelvin Hospital for winning a top award last night.

The team (pictured above), who were the only entrants from the North of Ireland, were shortlisted for the Patients’ Choice Award.

This is a category where the entrants are nominated by patients and the winner is decided by public vote.

Mayor Boyle tweeted this evening: “Huge congratulations to members of the Altnagelvin Renal Home Therapy team @WesternHSCTrust who won the patient choice award last night in London.

“Great achievement and well done 👏👏👏 to everyone involved.”
