THE PSNI in Derry are the warning the public to be on alert for a white van being driven around Derry.
Sgt Rainey says: “We have received several reports in relation to a suspicious white van in the Waterside area of the city over the last few days.
“The vehicle in question has been sighted driving around housing developments slowly and has also been calling at addresses.
“At this stage the only details we have are that a white van is involved.
“This may be innocent enough however we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to keep your properties locked and secure including any outbuildings.
“Please keep an eye on the more vulnerable members of our community.
“If you are the driver of the vehicle in question and have an innocent explanation for being in the area, please contact us.
“If you notice anything which you believe is suspicious, please call us taking note of any descriptions of people involved and registrations of vehicles involved if it is safe to do so.
“You can call 101 at anytime or if you believe a crime is in progress please call 999.”
