MAYOR Maoliosa McHugh was full of praise for the volunteers who have been working hard to make Strabane and Castlederg more colourful and welcoming.

He said: “I am really delighted to support the volunteers who have been working hard to brighten up Strabane and Castlederg this year.

“Indeed, these wonderful hanging baskets will blossom over the summer months and make such a difference to the appearance of both towns.”

Danny McCartney, Grounds Maintenance Manager at Derry City & Strabane District Council, added:

“A lot of hard work goes into the planting of the hanging baskets and the improvements to how Strabane and Castlederg are presented.

“Indeed, our floral displays throughout the City and District have been really well received and the feedback we have been getting from the public has been very positive.

Through a range of initiatives like this – and our ongoing support from local communities and businesses – Council will continue to work to provide cleaner, greener and safer spaces for all.”
